This policy explains how FormatIO, an app by Alcyonite, handles your information.

Messages, formats, and saved results

FormatIO keeps the text you provide, your format definitions and instructions, extracted values, conversion history, and your current draft on your device. It syncs this information through your private CloudKit database in your Apple iCloud account. Alcyonite does not operate a server that receives or stores this content and cannot browse your private iCloud database.

Sync depends on your iCloud account, connectivity, and available storage. Local changes can remain on your device until synchronization is possible.

On-device processing

FormatIO uses Apple’s on-device Foundation Models to create formats and extract information. It does not send your source text to Alcyonite or to a third-party AI service. FormatIO does not use your content to train an Alcyonite model.

Purchases

Apple processes subscriptions and payments. FormatIO uses StoreKit transaction and entitlement information to determine whether unlimited custom formats are available. Alcyonite does not receive your payment card details through the app.

Sharing and clipboard access

FormatIO receives text when you explicitly share it to the app. Paste reads text when you use the Paste control. Copy and Share send the output you choose to your clipboard or the destination app. That destination’s policies apply after you share.

Analytics and advertising

FormatIO includes no advertising SDK, third-party analytics SDK, or tracking code. It does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites. Apple may process service, purchase, or diagnostic information under its own privacy policies and your account settings.

Keeping and deleting your information

Saved content stays until you delete it. Delete a saved result from History or a custom format from Formats. Saved results retain their own snapshot of a format, so deleting a format does not delete previous results. Clear the source draft in Convert to remove its text.

Deletions sync when iCloud becomes available. FormatIO retains content-free deletion markers to propagate deletions. Copies that you exported or shared must be deleted separately. You can also manage app data in your device’s iCloud storage settings. Removing the app alone may leave its iCloud data in your account.

Support and this website

If you email us, we receive your email address and anything you include so we can respond. Please avoid sending customer messages or sensitive information unless necessary. This website is delivered through Cloudflare, which may process ordinary connection information such as IP addresses for delivery and security. This page uses no analytics scripts or advertising cookies.
